An Advent calendar that joins in
A fabric Advent calendar with little bags often comes out year after year, ready for new fillings. When one of the bags holds a finger puppet, the child has a character to play with as soon as the bag is opened.
A character for special days
Not every bag needs a finger puppet. It makes the biggest impression on days children are looking forward to anyway, such as 6 December, when Samichlaus (the Swiss St Nicholas) comes, or 24 December. On the other days, nuts, a tangerine or a note with a little task are plenty.
Finger rhymes through Advent
With finger puppets on your fingers, a finger rhyme becomes a tiny play. Each time a new character arrives during Advent, the child can act out more rhymes and songs.
A visitor for the group
At kindergarten or playgroup, a finger puppet from the Advent calendar can guide the children through December: on every kindergarten or playgroup day, the teacher or playgroup leader uses it to ask a question, and the children work out the answer together.
