Organic cotton from head to toe
On an EcoBuds doll, the organic cotton is not limited to one part. It covers the skin, the hair and the clothes, and on the minis it extends to the shorts and the dress that come off. Their tops and leggings are organic cotton too; only the filling is polyester fibre. Each doll is soft and made by hand.
Names from nature
Daisy, Iris and Poppy are named after flowers, Hazel and Aspen after trees, and Fern after a woodland plant. These are the larger dolls; Daisy, Hazel, Iris and Poppy are girls, Aspen and Fern boys. Among the minis, Elm is a tree, Basil a herb, and Flora stands for the whole plant world.
The names also make a simple game for a walk: who can spot a daisy in the grass, a fern by the path or a hazel in the hedge? Back home, the doll with the matching name gets told all about it.
Large or mini: who will play with it?
A child who loves changing a doll’s clothes is best served by one of the larger EcoBuds, because Rubens Barn makes extra outfits for them. Each larger doll arrives dressed and is easy for a child to carry around.
The minis are smaller and lighter than the larger EcoBuds. They suit a child who wants a doll to tie onto a bag or a pram, and Elm, Basil and Flora can still be undressed and dressed again. Two minis make an easy pair for brothers and sisters, one doll each, and a single mini is a good small gift when visiting friends or family.
Extra outfits for the larger dolls
Rubens Barn has designed four two-piece sets for the larger EcoBuds, one for each season, and each is sold separately. They are a sleeveless jumpsuit with a rucksack, a ruffle dress with a hairband, a poncho with a knitted scarf, and a knitted jumper with a snood. They fit the larger dolls only. A larger doll together with one of the sets makes a more generous birthday present, with something to change into straight away.
