Out and about with a Kids doll
In the morning the doll goes into the rucksack, and by the afternoon it has seen the station, the train and the playground at the other end. It weighs less than a Rubens Baby, and on a long day of travelling that makes a difference. On holiday it keeps its usual place beside the child, even in a strange room. At the grandparents’ house, it is introduced to everyone before the child has even taken off their coat.
Who comes along is the child’s choice. Among the girls are Cicci, Mimmi, Lollo, Clara, Alma and Linnea, and Jonathan, Tim and Oliver are the boys. Rubens Barn gives each of them a personality of their own. Linnea also comes in a Rubens Ark version, dressed as a moose, with the same fleece and the same weighted bottom.
A Kids doll also makes a good present to take along when visiting a family with children, because it is ready to play the moment it is unwrapped. Grandparents who keep one at their house have it waiting for every visit.
Packing the doll’s luggage
The kitty bag comes first, since every traveller needs somewhere to keep things, and it gives the doll luggage of its own, just like the child. Plain blue denim shorts suit a day by the lake. For a birthday at the holiday flat, there is a white party dress with colourful spots, a pink bow and a tulle petticoat. If the trip goes to the snow, the winter set brings a scarf, gloves, a hat and boots for an afternoon of sledging.
Each piece is made of a polyester and cotton blend. The Kids clothes are made for both Kids and Ark dolls, so one suitcase can serve several dolls.
A sleepover for two
When a friend comes to stay, two Kids dolls make the visit twice as busy. In the evening they are put to bed side by side, and in the morning they swap clothes before breakfast, because every outfit fits both of them. The kitty bag goes with them, packed with whatever the dolls are thought to need for the night.
After a few days away, it is good to know that Kids dolls can be washed. Kindergartens, playgroups and other institutions ordering several dolls are welcome to pay by invoice, which we switch on for their account after checking and approving it.
