Swooping in for a perfect landing is the Folkmanis peregrine falcon hand puppet. Signature markings of the species, extraordinary design and realistic movement in the head, beak and wings give flight to your imagination. Create your own medieval scene and practise your falconry skills anywhere with this majestic bird.
The peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) breeds on every continent except Antarctica, which makes it one of the most widely distributed birds on earth. It builds nothing at all: a ledge on a cliff will do, and in towns a church tower, a chimney or the edge of a high-rise takes that place. Its prey is almost entirely other birds, from starlings to pigeons, caught in open air. The female is noticeably larger than the male, who supplies the family with food while she broods.
Did you know that a stooping peregrine passes 320 kilometres per hour, making it the fastest animal on earth? Small bony tubercles inside its nostrils are thought to slow the rushing air, so the bird can still breathe at that speed.
