Care and Cleaning Guide for Anima Soft Toys

Anima soft toys are known for their realistic appearance, soft materials and carefully finished details. Gentle cleaning and proper drying will help preserve the texture of the fur and maintain the original shape of the toy.

The manufacturer generally recommends careful hand washing. However, many Anima soft toys may also be washed in a washing machine at 30 °C, provided this is permitted by the care label attached to the individual product. The instructions on the product label should therefore always take priority.

Removing light dirt and small marks

Dust and minor surface dirt can often be removed without washing the entire soft toy. Gently shake the toy or wipe the affected area with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

For small marks, use a small amount of mild detergent or gentle soap. Clean the area carefully and avoid vigorous rubbing, as this may alter the texture or direction of the fur.

Hand washing – the gentlest option

For the most delicate cleaning method, the manufacturer recommends hand washing. Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent without bleach or harsh additives.

Move the soft toy gently through the water and carefully clean any particularly soiled areas by hand. Avoid scrubbing, twisting or wringing the toy, as this may move the filling or affect its original shape.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water until all detergent residue has been removed.

Machine washing

If the care label confirms that the particular Anima soft toy is machine washable, it may be washed at a maximum temperature of 30 °C.

Use a gentle or delicate wash cycle and select a low spin speed where possible. Placing the toy inside a laundry bag or a securely closed pillowcase will provide additional protection against friction inside the washing machine.

Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, fabric conditioner and other aggressive laundry additives.

Soft toys with delicate features, long fur, sewn-on details or a particularly firm shape are generally better suited to careful hand washing.

Drying the soft toy correctly

After cleaning, Anima soft toys must be allowed to dry naturally. They must not be placed in a tumble dryer.

Gently press out excess water by hand or place the toy between two clean towels and apply light pressure. Do not twist or wring the toy.

Lay it on a dry towel and carefully return it to its original shape. Turn the soft toy occasionally during drying so that all sides can dry evenly.

Keep it away from radiators, direct sunlight, hairdryers and other sources of strong heat. High temperatures may damage synthetic fibres, affect the fur texture or alter the filling.

Restoring the fur after washing

Once the soft toy is completely dry, gently loosen and lift the fur with your fingers. A very soft brush may also be used on suitable toys.

Brush carefully and without applying pressure. Avoid delicate areas such as the eyes, nose, ears, claws and any sewn-on details.
